Invitation to Cancer Pain Management Workshop
You are cordially invited to attend a Cancer Pain Management Workshop hosted by Malaysian Hospice and Palliative Care Council (MHPCC) and Assunta Hospital. This workshop is organized as part of the MHPCC 2025 Workshop Series.
Date: 18th January 2025 (Saturday)
Time: 8.30am – 4pm
Location: Multipurpose Hall (MPH), Tun Tan Cheng Lock College of Nursing, Petaling Jaya
This workshop will provide valuable insights into:

Understanding Cancer Pain: Types of cancer pain, its impact, and coping mechanisms.

Pain Management Techniques: Pharmacological: Medications and their side effects & Non-pharmacological interventions.

Communication & Advocacy: Effective communication with your patients about treatment strategies.

Emotional & Psychological Support: Coping with pain, anxiety, and depression.
Lecture Topics will be presented by experts in the field of cancer pain management:
1) Dr. Aaron Hiew - Palliative Medicine Consultant, Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL)
2) Dr. Liew Kean Yew - Palliative Medicine Specialist, Hospital Ampang
3) Ms Prita Nambbiar - Clinical Pharmacist, Institut Kanser Negara (IKN), Putrajaya
Meals and refreshments are included in the registration fee. There will be complimentary slots for the first 10 participants from Assunta Hospital. For MHPCC organisational and individual members as well as Assunta staff, you are entitled to join the course at a discount rate of RM50. For other interested participants, the registration fee is RM100.
