“Compassionate Communities : Together for Palliative Care”.
The genesis of the umbrella body began in Penang when the Hospice at Home Programme hosted a two day scientific meeting in 1996. Representatives from seven of the then eight hospice services in the country attended.
An important aspect of Palliative care is listening to what people with personal experience of palliative and end of life care have to share.
Education is the key in provision of palliative care. Training curricula needs to be developed at basic, intermediate and specialist levels.
