WORLD HOSPICE & PALLIATIVE CARE DAY
World Hospice and Palliative Care Day (WHPCD) is a global observance dedicated to raising awareness about hospice and palliative care, essential services that improve the quality of life for individuals with life-limiting illnesses. This day highlights the compassionate care provided by hospices and palliative care providers and advocates for access to these services worldwide. As World Hospice and Palliative Care Day approaches, let’s explore the significance of this day, its objectives, and how you can participate in promoting the importance of hospice and palliative care.
Since 2022, MHPCC, together with the Ministry of Health (MOH) Malaysia and our members and palliative care providers in Malaysia have been organizing a national-level event to amplify the voices and effort to expand palliative care services. We have also introduced our own symbol for this event. The dove represent love and compassion - two components that are very integral to palliative care and hospices. The various colors within this dove represent unity and inclusivity, where we welcome all sectors who are working together for people who need better access to palliative care services in all parts of the country.
